I first used this product 37 years ago, with positive comments from dates and girlfriends. After the product arrived, I opened the bottle...and immediately memories of special occasions and female faces surfaced. This fragrance is not overpowering (remember Brut?). I have no idea how fragrances are marketed to males 17-25, but I can't help thinking that this would be one that would still appeal.

Other than the above, the price is omigod higher than in the days of yore, but Amazon's price is the best around (big surprise).

I may have flirted with Old Spice, but Lagarfeld has been with me for years.

I think it's success has centered around it's low profile character, as it's musk is not sharp or offensive, but has a clean and manly scent.

One of the best compliments I ever received was from a blood-sucker at one of the labs one time. She asked what it was, and after telling her, she wrote it down to suggest to her husband.

She went on to comment that most people do cleanup before coming to the doctor's office or the lab, but overdo the aftershave where they sometimes even have to wipe down the chair where he was sitting. Lagerfeld however was nice and way far in the background.
